Was going through more old pictures and I found this shot of my dad's old Pathfinder on Prince Edward Island. I loved that thing - never got stuck or defeated by a slippery hill. I clearly remember my dad coming home with it in '93 and taking me and my brother for a joyride in which we drove down my neighbor's steep front lawn and clambered over an embankment behind my elementary school. Back when SUVs were actual trucks, you know? Also had a lot of fun riding on the running boards - simpler times.
Here's the mystery mobile. I could probably figure it out but I wanted to see if anyone knows off the top of their heads. Whatever this is, it was my mom's roommate's boyfriend's car in '79.

79 Pontiac Firebird.

Looks like a 74-76 Firebird to me. It has that kind of weird nose shape on the side that the 74-76 had. The 77-81 would be pointier.

Strike that, it's absolutely a Camaro. Rear window gives it away. '74-76 Camaro.

I'll say its a '75-'77 Camaro. Looks to be a base model. The roof was redesigned in '75 to reduce blind spots, so it looks this way. In '78, they got rid of the railroad-tie 5-mph bumpers. So, I estimate it is in that three year range.

It's a '70s Camaro. I'm gonna guess a mid-decade car because the front end isn't the weird one it started out with, so 1974-1976.

I'm 'murican - was there on a family road trip one summer. But yes, quite flat.

It's a Lambo, dude

The roof of the Camaro was redesigned in '75 to reduce blind spots, so it is not a '74.

That makes sense. The base models from this generation always throw me because they look so plain.

Oh, for sure. Heck, even when they released the Berlinetta in '79, that looked plain.

Ive noticed the 4 door versions of these look like 2 doors in a better way than the actual 2 door version

Star for the Pathfinder. Wish we never had to sell ours.

Good catch. 75 and 76 seem largely identical to me in pictures. Any cosmetic differences there?

yeah they did a great job hiding it. I always liked how the handle was hidden in the C pillar

Nope, '75-'77 were virtually identical. There were subtle differences within the interior and there were a few changes under the hood. Exterior-wise, though, you really cannot tell them apart.
